The Arisaka action might be the most underrated firearm in the Western Hemisphere. These robust rifles culminated in the Type 99, a bolt action second to none. Initially, Japanese industry was incapable of producing a weapon that could withstand the shock of firing the heavier 7.7mm round; however, after several different design trials the Army adopted both a new 7.7mm cartridge and a rifle that had a more forceful recoil but was as efficient with its cartridges as the rifles fired by Chinese forces. I don't know the significance of the absence of the mum. But if the symbol at the right end of the serial number is indeed the Chief Inspector's mark, it seems likely he passed this rifle. UNLESS, that is, the presence of the mark (which I haven't seen on the limited number of T99s I've looked at) is a rejection mark!

A fee of $5-10 will be charged for handling depending on the size of the order. This payment will be made directly to UPS. THIS OPTION IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR SMALLER ITEMS.
OPTION #2: Items can be picked up at the auction house up to two weeks after the Pennsylvania state COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. (Items will be stored at no charge). THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION FOR LARGER ITEMS.

Out of state residents must have an FFL or a licensed dealer in their state to receive UPS shipments of handguns. Modern rifle and shotgun purchasers must be at least 18 years of age and be eligible to purchase firearms. C&R lots will convey to C&R FFL holders per Federal regulations. Applicable fees for non-licensed Pennsylvania residents to be paid at the time of check-out include a $2.00 PICS fee and a $3.00 per gun Pennsylvania State surcharge fee.
